no one was late for this important date...

My bestie Kiley's bridal shower was a couple weeks ago - a while back it was decided that we would use her love of Alice in Wonderland as inspiration. Scoured flea markets and consignment shops for teacups and teapots for centerpieces and whipped up some mismatched table runners for some extra color to the tables -
all finished and waiting to be delivered

Pic of the Week

Little Lucy's hiding spot behind the curtains to the screen door -She loves it there so much sometimes it take me a while to find her cause she won't move an inch when she's looking at the window.
We had a health scare with Lucy a month ago but she's a trooper and is getting better every day.

let them eat cake...

I was asked if I would be able to make a cake for my High School Graduation Party - Of course I said yes, considering the fact that I use to babysit for Gabby and she is the sweetest girl. The cake ended up being larger than I originally expected and with much help from my bestie Kiley the cake came out beautiful and received many compliments from the party goers.

Congrats Gabby and the class of 2010!

Sunday Mornings

I love Sunday mornings... They always seem to be a little care free and relaxed. For me, I always try to do all my errands and house work on Saturday so Sunday is free to do what ever I please. Early Sunday mornings consisted of lots of coffee and catching up on the food network, nothing can beat that -

best of both worlds

So is really a hamburger? No silly, it's a cupcake
I made these little slider inspired cupcakes for the hubby's going away party. Paul just loves sandwiches and instead of making a big cake, I whipped up these guys really quickly.

Vanilla Cupcakes for the bun, Brownie for the patty and a little colored frosting to for the toppings

Head over to bakerella's blog for all the details (she even serves hers up with a side of fries!)

a little rant...

I can’t explain why they make me so angry, but every time I come across an ad or article regarding the Snuggie my blood starts to boil. This was sent to yesterday afternoon - Snuggie Fashion Show

Unless you lived under a rock last year, you must have seen the commercials for the Snuggie. Apparently using a regular blanket to keep you warm is passé or difficult. You need to have sleeves on your blanket so you can stay warm while changing the channel on the TV, answering the phone or my favorite holding your dog. (Yea right, Lucy would not sit still for that)

The Snuggie was always a joke in my group of friends and I even had a bathrobe that my husband called my snuggie. Never once did I ever say, “Ghee, I’d really like a Snuggie”… Well that did not stop my husband. For our second anniversary, he got me not one but two Snuggies. SERIOUSLY. (He has now topped our friend Chris as the worst gift giver, sorry Hun!) First of all when I opened the package they smelled like raw potatoes (WHAT?!?), second thing, the material is not soft or comforting; I’ve had airplane blankets made out of nicer material. Lastly, the thing is humongous; the sleeves are double the length of my arms seeming to defeat their purpose.

For now the Snuggies have been banished to a box in the basement, probably only making an appearance at Christmas at a Yankee Swap.

The things my friends can get me to do…

My bestie Kiley asked if I would partner up with her to host a table at a craft fair taking place to benefit her Mom’s Relay For Life team, Friends for Friends. Since I want to support a good cause, I said yes but I must admit I’m a little nervous. Kiley is wicked creative and much better at sewing than me. Hopefully she’ll have some patience with me.

We have slew of ideas of what wares we will be selling; aprons, key chains, and luggage tags to name a few. I’ll post a couple of items as they get finished and if you like what you see we hope that you’ll come and visit the craft fair to buy something to benefit a good cause.
